A Natural Synergy to fight Neuro-muscular Disabilities

A Natural Synergy to fight Neuro-muscular Disabilities

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), caused by dystrophin deficiency, results in chronic inflammation and irreversible skeletal muscle degeneration. There is currently a widening gap between the tidal wave of gene discovery in neuropsychiatric conditions and our poor understanding of rare genomic variants. If the human mind is created by genes, then mental modification can be applied for lasting relief of neuromuscular disabilities.

Medical Marijuana, Ashwagandha, Curcumin, and Boswellia have the potential to help with the symptoms of muscular dystrophy in several ways. The active compounds in these herbs are renowned for their ability to relieve inflammation and chronic pain and mental modifications. Medical Marijuana can induce physical relaxation to relieve symptoms such as muscle spasticity or stiffness, one of the critical problems for people with muscular dystrophy. The Cannabinoids of Marijuana and Withanolides of Ashwagandha also promote mental relaxation, and as such, could help with issues like insomnia and depression. The active principles block nuclear k-factor and will help delay muscle degeneration. These natural ingredients do not alter the patient’s genetic code or introduce genetic materials into the body.

If human beings are made by Chemistry and Consciousness then both can influence each other. Consciousness may now be understandable from an entirely new perspective, that of genetics. Genes are at the center of everything that makes us human. Genes are responsible for producing the proteins that run everything in our bodies. Some proteins are visible, such as the ones that compose our hair and skin. Others work out of sight, coordinating our basic biological functions. Our genes influence the development and function of the brain, and ultimately control how we move, think, feel, and behave.

A gene is a stretch of DNA that contains the instructions for making or regulating a specific protein. Genes that make proteins are called protein-coding genes. In order to make a protein, a molecule closely related to DNA called ribonucleic acid (RNA) first copies the code within DNA. Then, protein-manufacturing machinery within the cell scans the RNA, reading the nucleotides in groups of three. These triplets encode 20 distinct amino acids, which are the building blocks for proteins. The largest known human protein is a muscle protein called titin, which consists of about 27,000 amino acids.

Dystrophin is a cytoplasmic protein that connects the cytoskeleton of a muscle fiber to the surrounding matrix through the cell membrane. DMD, the largest known human gene, provides instructions for making a protein called dystrophin. This protein is located primarily in muscles used for movement (skeletal muscles) and in heart (cardiac) muscle. Mutations in the DMD gene alter the structure or function of dystrophin or prevent any functional dystrophin from being produced. Muscle cells without enough of this protein become damaged as muscles repeatedly contract and relax with use.

The synergy between cannabinoid Withanolides Curcumin and boswellic acid could help people with muscular dystrophy on a cellular level. The Ayush Samiti – the parent body of AMDS India, is investigating the effects of Withania somnifera, Boswellia serrata, Curcuma longa, and Cannabis India in the prevention and treatment of neuro-muscular disabilities. The goal is to understand the healing power of natural herbs to modulate gene-mind and brain architecture.

Nerve Damage and Neuropathy

Consciousness is everything you experience, while Prana is the “life force” which flows through nerves. The
Pain and altered sensation; tingling; pins and needles sensations; burning; increased sensitivity to touch; muscle weakness or wasting; paralysis; dysfunction in organs or glands; or impairment to urination and sexual function are common problems associated with Neuropathy. There are more than 100 types of neuropathy. The most common causes are diabetes, over weight, blood pressure, auto-immune disorders, metabolic toxins, chronic liver failure and kidney diseases, hypothyroidism, amyloidosis, chemotherapy, ageing and poor nutrition. Healthy diet, drinks & Nerve supplements, and immuno-modulators along with Yogic breathing (Pranayama) are efficient Ayurvedic resources for prophylaxis and lasting relief.

Our brain is a bundle of neurons (nerve cells) and responsible for actions, and functional abilities along with thoughts, memory, and speech. Any disease or damage in the nerves leads to different kinds of disabilities. Nerves damage can lead to paralysis, weakness of muscles, lack of coordination, loss of sensation, seizures, pain, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, erratic levels of consciousness, and many others. Ayurvedic therapies and remedies offer the safest treatment for disabling neuro-muscular problems.

Several blood tests help in the diagnosis. These can detect vitamin deficiencies, diabetes, abnormal immune function, and other indications of conditions that can cause peripheral neuropathy. Imaging tests such as CT and MRI, Nerve function tests, Electromyography, and nerve biopsy may be needed to pinpoint the root cause of nerve damage.

There are several chemotherapeutic medicines that are known to be neurotoxic and can damage nerves and can lead to neuropathy. Similarily several herbs such as Acorus calamus rhizoma, Cannabis sativa, Withania somnifera, Semecarpus anacordium, Akarkara, and many more in herbal combinations are useful in the safe management of Neuropathy. Akarkara is generally used to manage pain and inflammation related to arthritis due to its antioxidant property. Cannabis extract is an effective treatment in attenuating diabetic neuropathic pain, possibly through a strong antioxidant activity and a specific action upon nerve growth factor.

Nigella sativa, Ocimum sanctum, Phyllanthus amarus, Phyllanthus niruri, and Sesbania sesban have been scientifically verified for their efficacy in neuropathic pain. Acorus calamus and Aconite are traditionally used in the treatment and management of pain and severe inflammatory in Ayurveda. It is commonly used to relieve the muscle, joint, vascular, and nerve injury associated with severe inflammatory and neuropathic pain. While oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction promote neuropathy, substances with an antioxidative potency are possible candidates for the treatment of nerve damage related disabilities. Ayurvedic supplements such as Neuro Cons, Myo Cons, Detox Drink,, and capsules are efficient as a supportive treatment of neuropathies. While nerve degeneration has multiple possible mechanisms, a combination of herbs and therapies might be a promising opportunity focusing on multiple targets of degeneration or activating regeneration.

Today, diabetes has become a chronic disease the world over. Caused by the excessive levels of sugar in the blood, it has serious health implications. It can prove fatal if not treated and so is perceived as a ‘death sentence’. An estimated 1 million Indians die due to diabetes every year.

Produced by the pancreas, Insulin, is among the several digestive enzymes and endocrine secretions produced by our body to digest the food we eat. It helps the cells to absorb glucose from the blood. Diabetes occurs when the production of insulin is either insufficient or if the body is unable to use it for some reason.

If you take Regular insulin you should generally take it 15 to 30 minutes before a meal. If you take insulin lispro which works very quickly, you should generally take it less than 15 minutes before you eat.
Without insulin, people with type 1 diabetes suffer a condition called Diabetic Ketoacidosis. If left untreated, people die quickly and usually alone.

Insulin resistance is becoming more common in people living with type 1 diabetes. Generalized insulin allergy is rare. But sometimes it can create allergic reactions immediately after the injection. Moreover, there is a rising trend of overweight and increased risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects among individuals with type 1 diabetes. This is often associated with insulin resistance, increased insulin dose requirements, and poor glycemic control. The Insulin Plant (Costus Igneus) may interest you as a supportive treatment of type 1 diabetes along with Insulin. It is being popular as diabetes tea or diabetes drink in Europe. The leaf of the plant helps in producing insulin. They control the blood sugar levels of our body. The leaves of the Insulin Plant contain corosolic acid which helps to generate insulin thereby treating diabetes. More info at https://www.sanjivaniwellness.org/diabetes-drink/

The condition is more common in adults over the age of 40 and athletes. Some forms of tendinitis are named after certain sports (e.g., tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, pitcher’s shoulder, swimmer’s shoulder, and jumper’s knee).

Bursae are fluid-filled sacs that reduce friction and cushion the areas between bones, tendons, and muscles. They are found in the hips and other parts of the body. When these soft tissues become inflamed, they cause pain in the affected area. The condition is called bursitis. Injury or overuse of bursae is a common cause of bursitis.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, Hip pain is a Vata disorder involving bone and bone marrow. Hip pain can be a symptom of Kati shool (Pain in the lumbar/hip region). It is primarily caused by the vitiation of Vata Dosha. Gentle low impact exercises like walking or swimming, stretching and resistance training can help with chronic hip pain from arthritis. Ayurvedic TMP procedure along with postural training, physiotherapy along with Yogic breathing (Pranayama) if efficient in the lasting relief. Without death, life has no purpose, it just is. Without failure, we have no reason to learn, without suffering, there is no pleasure or purpose in life. Suffering is the salt of life. Spiritual science behind the cause of suffering is explained by Sankhya philosophy. According to Sankhya philosophy “There is the absence of certainty and permanency”. There are three types of pain in this world intra-organic (adhyatmika) external influence (adhibhautika) and Super Natural Agency. And intra-organic also two types of physical and mental. Pain is eternal. Thus the impossibility of removal of pain is of two kinds: From eternality of pain and from the ignorance of the means of removing it. Ayurvedic herbs viz., Vijaya (Cannabis sativa) is an easy tool to remove miseries. It is an ancient source of happiness and freedom from mental modifications.

Very few people are well satisfied with his job and family.
Vijaya or marijuana can help to fight and win several miseries of life.

Failure of Medicines in Life style Disorders

admin No Comments

In spite of stronger medicines, vaccines, and expensive treatment, the incidence of lifestyle diseases like Blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, heart disease, and overweight is high on the rise. Heart diseases continue to be the major cause of mortality representing about 30% of all deaths worldwide. Why stronger medicines are not able to control the epidemic of chronic diseases?

Ayurveda emphasizes on the importance of food in the prevention and cure of lifestyle disorders. The breakdown of our tissues is a constant process in the body that is replenished by the intake of food. Ayurveda says food and drinks powerful medicine if they match your DNA. Ayurveda recommends Pathya Ahara by stating that if you intake wholesome food then there is no need for medicine and if you do not stop consuming unhealthy food then also there is no need for medicine. In the latter case, medicine will not be effective. In this way, the precisely constituted, calculated and cooked food is known as Pathya. The core key to good health is wholesome food without which optimal health cannot be achieved. Wholesome food is one that protects your wellbeing, while unwholesome food is the root of all diseases.

It is challenging to understand the Ayurvedic Pathya and Apathya from the western point of view where quantity is determined by serving size portion size or in caloric intake. Food incompatibility (Viruddha Ahara) is when two elements do not have an affinity for each other & those elements cause the interruption of metabolism which inhibits the formation of tissue.

Wholesome and unwholesome food varies from person to person. Wholesome for one might be unwholesome for another. The suitability of diet for a person is governed by age, body constitution, nature, the quantity of food, and compatibility with other foods. Keeping the above in mind one should exclude unwholesome items from one diet and eat only wholesome foods.

Remember wholesome (Pathya) is suitable to your body’s DNA, which does not create any trouble, and which is pleasant to the mind, that which is unpleasant to the mind is Apathya, This should not be neglected. Pathya is the right food that keeps the person healthy, maintains normal body functioning, nourishes the mind and intellect, prevents diseases, and at the same time corrects the irregularities that may occur in the body. Thus, everyone should refrain from unhealthy and unwholesome food to body (Apathya) and follow the wholesome food (Pathya) for prevention and lasting cure.

Almost all people with ankylosing spondylitis can expect to lead normal and productive lives. Despite the chronic nature of the illness, only a few people with ankylosing spondylitis will become severely disabled. But if left untreated, chronic inflammation can ultimately cause the vertebrae in your spine to fuse together. You may have a decreased range of motion when bending, twisting, or turning. You may also have greater, more frequent back pain. Ayurvedic treatment helps you to live with Ankylosing Spondylitis without painful disabling problems. Ayurvedic TMP procedure, physiotherapy, and Yogic support provide lasting relief.

According to Ayurveda, Ankylosing spondylitis is caused due to aggravated Vata dosha. The basic pathology starts with the formation of Ama toxins which if untreated causes degeneration & inflammation of the spine and may even lead to disability in the long term. In this autoimmune disorder, the disc between the vertebrae gets swollen up causing limitation of movement. The best treatment for this pathology is anti-Ama formulation such as Sukumar Guggul Rasayana and Neuro Cons. Ankylosing spondylitis treatment is most successful during the initial stages before the disease causes irreversible damage to your joints.

Living with a Chronic Diseases

admin No Comments

A chronic illness is a long-term health condition that may not have a cure. Living with chronic illness can make you feel very alone. Ayurveda help to identify the root cause, understand, fight, and win your chronic illness. Examples of chronic illnesses are Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, Arthritis, Asthma, Cancer, Cystic fibrosis, Diabetes, Heart disease, Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and many auto-immune diseases. Ayurveda associate chronic disease with a unique concept of Ama molecules or auto-toxins produce by our own body due to unhealthy diet-drink and lifestyle.

Ayurveda identifies Ama, (auto-toxins) as one of the culprits for poor health. These are produced in the body due to seasonal changes, aging, unhealthy food, and lifestyle, among other reasons. There are three types of ama, of which the first kind – sticky ama – is produced due to the accumulation of fetid and decomposed food in the large intestines. As a result, the digestive enzymes stop functioning properly and the system gets affected. This in turn interferes with the flow of energy through the various channels in the body, causing illness. In fact, the first stage of any disease is sometimes called ama, which in Sanskrit means undigested or uncooked.

Various blood tests are helpful to assess the presence of Ama in the body. A positive AMA means that there are detectable levels of antibodies or metabolites in the bloodstream. This is especially important in the management of diabetes, dyslipidemia, and auto-immune diseases. Rapid Antibody tests are easy to perform and help to identify certain infections and some other medical conditions.

Suitable diet and lifestyle modification can help fight the effect of toxic Ama. Elimination of toxins from the deeper tissues, organs, and channels is achieved through detox and rejuvenation treatments, which are at the core of Ayurveda. While some of the cleansing treatments are complicated and need expert supervision, there is a super-easy way to detoxify. A team of senior physicians of the Society of Clinical Ayurveda has created a wonderfully cleansing Detox Drink – a completely natural herbal drink made with scientifically proven Ayurvedic herbs. It not only detoxifies the body but also provides immense health benefits.

The best natural resource to stop the formation of Ama is Ginger and Guggul, whose anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties may help to prevent heart disease, neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Huntington’s cancer, as well as symptoms of aging. Sukumar Guggul Rasayana is an efficient anti-Ama medicine to fight chronic diseases. So go on, give Anti-Ama treatment a try and welcome a world of wellness into your body and mind!

Say Goodbye to Hair Loss

admin No Comments

Who doesn’t want ahead of luxuriant hair, that is well-groomed and styled? Even those who are not too bothered about their clothes, tend to fret about their hair, especially if they suffer from hair loss. Hair loss is a global problem for millions of people of both sexes, across age-groups. Little wonder then, that hair care products and treatments, constitute a multi-billion industry today.
Expensive hair-regeneration treatments hold out the promise of ‘crowning glory’ to those who are losing hair, but they need to be done only by experts who can gauge the dangers and side-effects on those undergoing treatment. Drugs and drug-based solutions are popular too, but they come with their own set of side-effects and contraindications, whether they are used topically or consumed internally.

The drawback with hair care products and drugs is that they don’t have a holistic approach to hair-health, because problems related to hair are not only localized but also have deeper roots in the form of nutrient deficiencies and imbalances in the body.

Some of the factors causing hair loss are:

Physical causes like vigorous brushing, hair dyes, chemicals and heat involved in a procedure like hair straightening and perming.
Effects of dust, pollution and hard water.
Stress and anxiety.
Deficiency of iron and zinc in the body.
Imbalances in the liver function.
As you can see, the last two factors are not localized but are still directly connected with hair-health. But there is no cause for despair. There is an excellent solution to all hair-related problems, which not only solves your hair problems but also tones up your liver and general health.

Keshya, is that wonderful Ayurvedic health supplement, that has been developed by the world-renowned Ayurvedic Physician, Dr Mukesh D. Jain, with some of the most effective, scientifically proven, and time-tested herbs. It has been clinically evaluated for over two decades for its efficacy in controlling hair loss and promoting overall hair health and is completely safe for both men and women.

The most important ingredient of Keshya is Bhrangaraj, (Eclipta Alba), which is also known as Keshraj in Assamese and Karisalankanni in Tamil. This Ayurvedic herb is scientifically verified for its efficacy as a liver cleanser and tonic. As we saw above, hair loss can be the result of the imbalance of pitta in the liver – one of the tridoshas elucidated in Ayurveda. Ranjak Pitta, produced in the liver directly affects hair health, including thinning, premature greying and discolouration of hair.

In addition to correcting the imbalance of pitta, Bhrangaraj has a host of other hair-related benefits too. It boosts blood circulation to the scalp, which ensures better nourishment for the hair follicles, resulting in healthy hair growth. This miraculous herb is regarded as the ‘Rasayana’ in Ayurveda – an ingredient that rejuvenates and slows down the ageing process. It has been proven to be better than Minoxidil in the regeneration of hair, without any side effects!

Besides Bhrangaraj, there are other excellent herbs in Keshya, which have a wide range of benefits.

Emblica Officinale acts as an antioxidant and helps fight free radicals that damage the hair.
Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kala) increases blood circulation to the scalp and nourishes hair follicles, strengthening them.
Rajat Bhasma is a rejuvenating herb that helps brain nerves, fights against anxiety and stress and boosts immunity.
Mouktik (Pearl) Pishti is natural calcium that corrects the pitta imbalance in the liver, prevents premature greying and discolouration, and helps in hair growth.
Aloe Vera contains enzymes that help repair dead cells on the skin of the scalp. It also conditions the hair and prevents itching and dandruff.

Why waste money on expensive hair care products that might not deliver what they promise or risk your health with drugs that come with side-effects? Go for the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda in the form of Keshya, which is both safe and effective.

Minoxidil, a vasodilator used to treat cardiac problems is applied on the scalp in the form or drops and foam, to help hair growth. Though how it works is not very clear, it is supposed to be effective. The other steroidal drug, Finasteride, is used in the treatment of baldness in men and works by decreasing the amount of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a male hormone linked to hair loss and other health problems.
